Mrs Fitzherbert’s – Church Street, Brighton. Review by HungryOwl
On November 25, 2022 by HungryOwlWe visited Mrs Fitzherbert’s twice this year (2022) – in May we came for a mid week lunch.
In May we ordered a sharing menu of Caribbean food – hot wings, Mac and Cheese with chilli, spicy battered prawns and jerk fries. The food was amazing – although I had to skip on the wings, 2 was plenty of heat of heat for me.
But the good news for me is that FattyCat is allergic to shellfish etc. So I got to enjoy these all to myself.
Service was prompt and polite.
Then we returned for Sunday Lunch on Gay Pride Weekend (August).
Service was very slow this time, we were late being shown to out table and then food took nearly 40 mins to arrive. But the food was worth waiting for. This is a more traditional menu FattyCat and I ordered the Pork, there were 2 vegetarians with us who ordered a Wellington which they said was amazing and our final group member had chicken which she declared to tasty and moist. None of us cleared our plates, the portions were massive.
Food prices weren’t too bad – but drinks were very expensive. I was charged £12 for a Rum and Lemonade. But this is Brighton and everywhere drinks are pricey.
