GoodRoots in Worcester – review by HungryOwl
On October 18, 2020 by HungryOwlThere aren’t many places that I have ever visited twice in two days. In fact there are lot of places that I have never visited twice. The restaurant/cafe is within the old Worcester Porcelain Works and has a large outside seating area and a sizable inside area too, but on both visits it was very busy.
On Saturday I visited GoodRoots with 2 friends for coffee and cake. We were greeted at the door by a friendly lady and showed to a table, she double checked with us that we would be ok with high stools as 2 of us have mobility issues.
We are an awkward group to please – my other friend is lactose and gluten intolerant; but this wasn’t a problem. She had a very yummy chocolate brownie with a ginger frosting. I very happily demolished a slice lemon and blueberry loaf cake.
The coffee was fabulous – not at all bitter but it still had a very robust taste.
Anyway I told FattyCat when I got home about the breakfasts I had seen coming out of kitchen and he insisted we return today to taste test the breakfast.
FattyCat ordered the full English Breakfast but swapped the tomatoes for an extra mushroom. He said everything was very quality and he was particularly impressed with the smokey bacon. For me (as he offered me a little to try) is was little too smokey, but then I don’t like smoked food.
I had the scrambled eggs on sour dough toast and ordered an additional sausage. The eggs were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Th sausages were divine and if they had been selling them I would have certainly purchased a few for later in the week to have for dinner. They were really meaty with delicate herbs. I had to take a photo of the butter just because it looked so cute!
The restaurant is dog friendly and on both visits there were a fair few woofies all being welcomed in.
I think FattyCat and I may have found a new favourite breakfast spot.
