Pizza Express, Cheltenham – Review by HungryOwl
On May 20, 2017 by HungryOwlThe restaurant is based in one of Cheltenham’s old town houses opposite the Town Hall, with steep steps to the front door. I would say this is not a place that is accessible to disabled people or people who are not good on their feet.
We booked for 6pm on a Thursday evening as we were going to a show in the Town Hall and opted for the 2 course for £10.95. This does restrict your starters to garlic bread or dough balls – so Gluten and Yeast allergies are not catered for here.
FattyCat and I had Garlic Bread with Mozzarella – it was a perfect portion size and made from the pizza dough. Definitely yummy.
For mains I had the Salade Niçoise without Olives – it was really good and there was no scrimping on the tuna. Fatty Cat had the Sloppy Giuseppe pizza it had a perfect crispy base and loads of topping.
For a chain store restaurant it was a lovely experience and when comparing this to Prezzo’s in The Brewery, Cheltenham which is awful – you can understand why Pizza Express was fully booked at 6pm.
Service was friendly and not rushed, but neither were we kept waiting. We left at 7:15pm perfect for the show.
