Rockwater, Hove – Review by HungryOwl
On May 31, 2022 by HungryOwlRockwater, Hove has got itself a reputation of being a classy place that server great food.
As you enter the restaurant the place looks amazing and the ‘greeter’ was a happy friendly chap.
We had a window table, which was amazing to sit and watch the sun go down over the sea.
But I suppose that is where the enjoyment ended.
The wine was very expensive and tasted like cheap supermarket plonk, we also noticed that it was neither a DOC or DOCG wine – these are the marks that show quality in Italy and this was supposed to be an Italian Chanti.
FattyCat ordered a MeatLovers pizza which had so little meat on it that it should have been called MeatLover’s Disappointment.
I ordered a steak – medium. The plate arrived looking pretty, but the meat was tough and even with the steak knife I was struggling, the mini potatoes tasted burnt and bitter.
We didn’t bother with dessert, but ordered a Limoncello – which was the cheapest muck I have ever been offered with the description of Limoncello – honestly any Italian would have thrown it in the waiters face.
This was supposed to be a celebration of my parent’s 70th Wedding Anniversary – but instead it was heart-breaking.
