Zizzi’s Worcester – Review by HungryOwl
On August 12, 2017 by HungryOwlFattyCat had booked us a table at Zizzi Worcester for my birthday. After a not very good experience early this year at Zizzi in Cheltenham I must say I wasn’t too pleased; but as he pointed out when we lived in Worcester previously we had eaten there many times and it had been good.
We were greeted at the door by a friendly welcoming man in smart clean clothes and a wonderful smile. FattyCat had requested a ‘quiet table’ after my horrific experience at Cosy Club the previous week. Zizzi’s were fabulous and we were sat in a small side room with 2 other couples. It was quiet and the tables were spaced so we could all enjoy personal conversations.
Food and Drink.
We ordered a bottle of Merlot. Which was perfect. Deep robust flavours.
FattyCat had the garlic bread with caramelized onions and mozzarella and I had the soul breads with garlic butter dip and a lemon and rosemary dip. My little pillows of heaven were fabulous and the lemon and rosemary dip was to die for. Fatty cat did say that the garlic bread missed the garlic flavour but the onion and cheese topping made up.
For mains FattyCat had the Italian Hot Rustica Pizza – again this was perfectly cooked and looked fabulous. I had the Beef and Venison Ragu with strozzapreti pasta. It tasted good, but was dramatically improved with a little salt and pepper. The waiter offered Parmesan cheese and he warmed my heart when he said “We have loads of cheese so don’t feel you have to be polite”.
Finally, I had a lemon meringue sundae – fresh light and perfect.
The staff here were all so lovely and friendly. An absolute example to their profession.
Well done Zizzi Worcester – you have restored my faith in chain store restaurants.
