Paddington2 – Odeon Worcester – Review by HungryOwl
On November 12, 2017 by HungryOwlPlease excuse my inability to talk technically about movies. I am simply one of those people who goes to the cinema, sits down with coffee and I submerse myself in the story.
On a side note I do hate the noise of people scratching in their boxes grabbing handfuls of popcorn – seriously in this day and age cannot someone invent a container for popcorn that is quiet?
Anyway digressing…..Paddington 2 – I loved the cartoon version that was around in the 70’s and 80’s. I think I could see myself in that clumsy little bear that was always trying to do his best and always things go wrong.
The new film is following this theme. Paddington needs to get a job to buy a present to send to Aunt Lucy, but his skill is not in being a barber or a window washer.
There were no children in our group and yet we all laughed and laughed and cried with happiness and cried with sadness. It has to be my favourite film of 2017 so far.
The animation of the bear is unbelievably good – he looks 100% real and he will endear himself you to your heart forever.
The cast is an extraordinary collection of British actors. The family is same as the first film with the very British Hugh Bonneville and the magnificent Julie Waters. Neighbors are played by Hugh Grant, Peter Capaldi, Ben Miller, Jessica Hynes and the shop owner Mr Gruber played by Jim Broadbent – honesty I could go on and on the cast seems to be everyone who is a fabulous British Actor – but there are no egos on show as the Bear steals the show entirely.
Old or young you should go and see this movie.
