The Bridge Inn, Tibberton – review by Hungry Owl
On August 1, 2021 by HungryOwlWe had seen so many good reviews for the The Bridge Inn that we felt it was the place that we had to explore.
We arrived the car park was full which we took as a good sign.
We were greeted and seated quickly in a hot and stuffy small room. We were so grateful that the 1 small window opened, others were screwed closed.
The menu was varied and looked like it had something for everyone.
Food….
For starters we ordered the BBQ sticky wings. Which were extremely hot as if they had been microwaved and then a jar of cold sauce poured on top. They didn’t taste very good.
Mains. I ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle which was served at the correct temperature, but clearly the chef hadn’t tasted it. It was covered with far too much sweet smokey Paprika and handful of parsley, plus there was so much salt. This seasoning totally overpowered the delicate flavour of the fish. FattyCat had the opposite problem. The chips looked cooked, but were raw in the middle and burger was overcooked had zero seasoning. It is the first time I have ever seen him leave a burger. No came to ask if the food was ok and waitress never said anything when she came to remove the half eaten food.
Service was terrible (45 mins for the starter to arrive, then nearly an hour for mains) and the serving staff were impolite. Even when we asked for the bill we were told that we couldn’t have a bill, but we owed £57. Apart from from 1 starter and 2 mains we had had 2 cokes and 2 lemonades, which means we must have been charged £20 for 4 soft drinks (each 1 pint).
Rather than write this review at the time of our visit I have waited for a good thought to come to mind, but I just can’t think of anything. So a month later I still feel poorly treated and ripped off.
