The Cotswold Salt Beef Co, Evesham – review by HungryOwl
On May 1, 2021 by HungryOwlI’m a member of a Facebook group caller 3 Counties Food and Drink club. The members are an active group recommending lots of different food events, catering companies and eateries.
This event popped up on the FB group ‘The Salt Beef Sit Down’ – never having eaten Salt Beef and not having been out to eat for what feels like years I was interested. FattyCat just smiled when I mentioned it and replied “what not to like meat in a sandwich?” Salt beef is a cured beef brisket and traditionally came from New York. This small artisan company makes their own on site in Evesham,The Salt Beef Co can also be booked to attend events such as weddings and corporate gatherings. |

I ordered the Traditional (salt beef, with pickled and mustard) with cheese in a bagel – £7.00. It was really quite big and certainly need any side orders. The beef was a brisket and very tender – definitely beats having a burger by 100 miles.
FattyCat had the Reuby Max (Salt beef, Pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut, pickle and Russian dressing) in a bagel – £8.50. It was massive, stuffed full of meat and the sauerkraut just gave it a little lift. We also had a portion of seasoned fries -£2.50 – not sure what the seasoning was but possibly a mix of salt and paprika – they were really tasty, but the bagels were so filling we hardly grazed on them. The event was well planned and hosted by really friendly staff – making it a very lovely evening |

Our drinks were provided by the Little Brewing Company
I had a coffee stout – which was awesome, but not something I would choose with a meal. But it is something I would enjoy drinking whilst watching the footy. FattyCat had a traditional Czech Pilsner called ‘Czech me out’. It was a light and flavorsome drink and definitely more suited to go with the Salt Beef. |
