The Holt, Holt Fleet in Worcesterhsire – Review by HungryOwl
On August 11, 2021 by HungryOwlIt was my birthday and the sun was shinning, so why not take advantage and have a lovely lunch by the river? We decided to head out to the The Holt. We hadn’t been there for a very long time and rumour was it was doing some excellent food.
The car park was relatively full when we arrived at 12:15pm on a Monday lunchtime – which was a positive sign that other people were also thinking this was a good place to eat. We were shown to a table my the river with a parasol (note if you want one of igloos book in advance) and handed a menu.
I really didn’t know what I fancied and asked the waitress about the Ploughman’s Sharing board starter. She advised it was a substantial amount of food and easily as big as a main course. So that was me sorted.
It was more than a substantial amount of food as you can see. Everything was amazing. I especially liked the pate and pork pie, but I did enjoy sitting there scoffing the cheese and silver skinned onions. The wonderful waitress kindly found me a box to take home the ham and 2 slices of pork pie that I ate for lunch the next day. It was a truly impressive spread of quality produce.
FattyCat settled for the gammon and chips – which was also a massive portion. He said the gammon was really good quality. He was also really impressed that it came with egg and pineapple.
What more can I say but the food was extraordinary.
